Ubisoft had a great showing at E3. I mean, Assassin’s Creed III alone! Not only did every trailer and live demo of the game look gorgeous during the press briefings (ship combat!!!), but I had a chance to play the multiplayer on the show floor. Two teams of five have to capture hold points on a map simply by standing near them and trying their best to blend in with the environment, lest they give themselves away for easy assassination from the enemy. It’s simple, but incredibly compelling stuff.
The French publisher also seems to be aboard with the Wii U in a big way. I’m not that interested in ZombiU (I hate zombies, as you may recall), but Rayman Legends was an absolute delight to play, both as Rayman and as that helper guy who’s controlled with the tablet. Dare I say it may have been more fun than New Super Mario Bros. U?
