Someone who works on Borderlands 2 referred to a skill tree that makes the game easier as “girlfriend mode.” As you can imagine, this became the newest Internet shit storm, although this time there were plenty of people ready to roll their eyes.
I’m uncomfortable telling women what to and what to not be offended about, but the gaming sexism witch-hunt sure is becoming a bit…sensitive? Is that the nice word? Look, this was very clearly a joke. Is it a stereotype? Sure. Is it based on some reality? Yes. Did the guy who said this really mean that all women who play games suck at them? Obviously not. Was it the best choice of words? No. Is it really worth a big fuss and cancelling your Borderlands 2 preorder over? Noooooo.
