I’m all for Disney owning Star Wars. Of course, I’m a self-proclaimed Disney geek, so maybe I’m not the most unbiased person to ask about this. Still, what’s the worse that can happen? Disney makes a bunch of commercial Star Wars schlock for kids? We’re already there.
Still, some people seem down on the whole thing. Isn’t this what we wanted? Lucas no longer has control of Star Wars. He won’t be involved in Episode 7. He can’t ruin it anymore! Is Star Wars still going to be an incredibly commercial product? Of course. But some of that is our fault for buying so much Star Wars junk. Honestly, as long as they make Star Wars movies again, I don’t care.
